WHO-Post Measles Campaign Coverage Survey (PMCCS) Project
The Ethiopian Statistical Association (ESA) has designed a Research and Project Unit to lead,
manage and coordinate the implementation of research projects, development projects and
initiate new project/program in collaboration with Ethiopian Statistics Service (ESS), project
stakeholders, development partners and members of the association.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has awarded the Post Measles Campaign Coverage Survey (PMCCS) Project to the Ethiopian Statistical Association (ESA).
The overarching objective of the Post Measles Campaign Coverage Survey is to validate the measles vaccination campaign conducted in 2022/2023 for children aged 9 months to 59 months at nationwide (all regional states and two city administrations) through cluster household surveys using enumeration areas(EAs). The PMCCS project is a large-scale nationwide project and the project covers 1,283 enumeration areas (EAs0 and a representative sample of 12,830 eligible households.
Currently, the data collection is undertaken throughout the nation engaging over 100 data collectors, 22 supervisors and 18 regional coordinators. The PMCCS Project turns various
opportunities to the Ethiopian Statistical Association. It is the first large-scale project in the history of ESA. WHO, GAVI, Ministry of Health (MoH), UNICEF and CDC are key partners of
PMCCS Project. The PMCCS Project will be completed in March 2024.
