Research in Statistical Science

Training Statistical research is the rigorous development of improved or new statistical methods grounded in probability and statistical theory. We focus on methods in seven areas of statistical research and maintain expertise in each.

Special topics in Statistical Sciences

Training Descriptive statistics are procedures used to summarize, organize, and make sense of a set of scores or observations. Descriptive statistics are typically presented graphically, in tabular form (in tables), or as summary statistics (single values). Data (plural) are measurements or observations that are typically numeric.

Research methods

Training Research methods are specific procedures for collecting and analyzing data. Developing your research methods is an integral part of your research design. When planning your methods, there are two key decisions you will make.

MATLAB

Training MATLAB stands for Matrix Laboratory. It is a high-performance language that is used for technical computing. It was developed by Cleve Molar of the company MathWorks.
