The Ethiopian Statistical Association (ESA)Background
The Ethiopian Statistical Association (ESA) is a legally registered national, autonomous, a non-profit making and voluntary professional organization. The association was founded in April 1990. The primary objective of ESA is popularizing Statistics as field of study and promoting statistical practices, research and training. The legal and organizational foundation of the association emanates from its Constitution.
The General Assembly, Executive Committee and the Secretariat oversee the activities of ESA. The Advisory board is composed of ex-presidents of the association, and provides valuable guidance to the executive committee in all activities of ESA. Secretariat runs the office of the association.

Mission, Vision and Objective Ethiopian Statistical Association (ESA)
ESA has nearly 1300 individual and 36 institutional members. It has chapters, namely, Statistical Society of Ethiopians in North America (SSENA), Addis Ababa University, Bahr Dar University, Haramaya University, Jimma University, and Mekelle University. Some of institutional members of ESA are Central Statistical Agency (CSA), Federal Ministry of Education, Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Save the Children-USA, Ethio-Telecom, and other public Universities
